Business & Financial Times Publishes the Special Supplement on China National Day

On October 29th, 2017, the Business & Financial Times, a leading newspaper of Ghana, published a special supplement on China National Day. The 12-pages special supplement contains a signed article by H.E. Mdm. Sun Baohong, Chinese Ambassador to Ghana, the congratulatory messages from H.E. Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Vice President of Ghana, Hon. Shirley Ayorkor Botchway, Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, H.E. Edward Boateng, Ghanaian Ambassador to China, H.E. Kojo Amoo-Gottfried, President of Ghana-China Friendship Association, Mr. Liu Kang, President of the China Enterprises Chamber of Commerce in Ghana, and Mr. Tang Hong, President of the Association Chinese Societies in Ghana, and picture exhibitions on China-Ghana relations.

In the signed article, Ambassador Sun introduces the development achievements since the establishment of the People’s Republic of China, particularly over the last 30 plus years of reform and opening-up, reviewed the interactions and cooperation achievements between China and Ghana in the fields of politics, economy and trade and people to people exchanges. Ambassador Sun says in the article that China and Ghana are standing at the new starting point and heading towards the shared goal of development. The two countries will enjoy a better tomorrow as long as both sides make concerted efforts, maintain close cooperation and enhance exchanges.

In the congratulatory messages, Vice President H.E. Dr. Bawumia offers his congratulations on the 68th Anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. He points out that China has been one of Ghana’s oldest and firmest friends with a long track record of fruitful interactions in financial, technical and diplomatic areas since independence. Ghana would like to learn China’s experiences in governance and administration, strengthen the economic and trade corporation based on mutual benefit and mutual respect so as to advance the bilateral friendly relations forward. Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration Hon. Shirley Botchway, on behalf of the President, H.E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the government and people of the Republic of Ghana and in her own name, extends warmest congratulations and best wishes to H.E. President Xi Jinping and the Chinese people. She wishes that China and Ghana will further strengthen cooperation in infrastructure, agriculture, and capacity building, benefit the two peoples and foster peace, stability of the world.

The picture exhibitions demonstrate the history and achievements of China-Ghana relations from three dimensions of China-Ghana traditional friendship and political exchanges, mutually beneficial cooperation and people-to-people exchanges.
