Chinese Ambassador to Ghana H.E. Mdm. Sun Baohong Meets the Secretary to the President of Ghana

On November 2, 2017, Chinese Ambassador to Ghana H.E. Mdm. Sun Baohong met with the Secretary to the President of Ghana Hon. Nana Asante Bediatuo. The two sides exchanged views on bilateral relations and mutual cooperation.

Ambassador Sun congratulated Nana Asante Bediatuo on his new position and introduced the outcomes of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC). Ambassador Sun said that in recent years, China-Ghana relations have witnessed a good momentum of development, and pragmatic cooperation has yielded fruitful results. Vice President H.E. Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia paid a successful visit to China in June 2017. In September, the Fourth Session of China-Ghana Joint Committee on Economic, Trade and Technical Cooperation was held in Accra successfully. China is willing to work with Ghana to promote China-Ghana relations to a higher level and benefit the people of the two countries.

Hon. Bediatuo gratefully thanked Ambassador Sun for coming to visit and congratulated on the convening of the 19th National Congress of the CPC and the re-election of H.E. President Xi Jinping as the General Secretary of the Central Committee of the CPC. Mr. Bediatuo spoke highly of Ghana-China traditional friendship and expressed his gratitude to China for its important contribution to the economic and social development in Ghana. Mr. Bediatuo said that President Akufo-Addo attaches great importance to developing friendly relations with China. Ghana regards China as a strategic partner in realizing economic transformation. Ghana will provide a business-friendly environment for Chinese companies and he welcomes more Chinese enterprises and citizens to invest in Ghana.
