Chinese Ambassador Pledges Support for Volt Region's Development
 

H. E. Mr. Yu Wenzhe, the Chinese Ambassador to Ghana, visited Volta Region from 25-26 September 2009. He paid a courtesy call upon Hon. Joseph Amenowode, Minister of Volta Region and Togbe Afede XIV, president of the Asogli State at Ho during his visit. 

During the meeting with the Regional Minister on 25 September 2009, Mr. Yu said the long standing relationship between China and Ghana made it possible for the region to benefit immensely. He noted that the region is resourceful but there is the need to build partnership between small and medium-scale industries. He promised to promote Volta Region within the Chinese business community and encourage more Chinese investment in the region. Mr. Yu also pledged that China will continue to support the region's development agenda within the best of her ability. 

On his part, Hon. Joseph Amenowode suggested to initiate exchange programs between the region and its counterparts in China to help upgrade the knowledge and skills of the people in the region. He called for collaboration between the business communities of the two countries to develop agricultural industry in the effort to boost the economy of the region.  

Mr. Yu attended the traditional Yam Festival of the region on 26 September 2009 under the invitation by Togbe Afede XIV.
