Chinese Ambassador to Ghana H.E. Mdm. Sun Baohong Attended the China Europe International Business School (CEIBS) 6th Executive Masters in Business Administration (EMBA)/ Women Entrepreneurship and Leadership for Africa (WELA) Graduation Ceremony

On January 16th 2016, the China Europe International Business School (CEIBS) 6th Executive Masters in Business Administration (EMBA)/ Women Entrepreneurship and Leadership for Africa (WELA) Graduation Ceremony took place at Ghana College of Physicians & Surgeons. Chinese Ambassador to Ghana H.E. Mdm. Sun Baohong, President of CEIBS Prof. Pedro Nueno, and EU Ambassador to Ghana H.E. Mr. Willian Hanna attended the ceremony.

In her speech, Ambassador Sun reviewed the achievements made by CEIBS since its establishment 21 years ago, expounded on the importance of training business management talents to African development, and introduced the “1+5+10” cooperation framework rolled out at the China-Africa Cooperation Forum Johannesburg Summit, and the plan of strengthening China-Africa cooperation on education and human resources development.

Ambassador Sun briefed the audience on the current economic situation in China, and said that the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China adopted a proposal on the formulation of the national economic and social development plan for the period from 2016 to 2020, i.e. the 13th Five-Year Plan. In this Plan, a new set of development concepts of innovation, balanced growth, green economy, opening-up, and inclusive development will be entrenched to solve the problem of unbalanced, uncoordinated and unsustainable development and enable the Chinese economy to successfully transform itself and maintain strong momentum of growth.

Ambassador Sun praised CEIBS for having trained a large number of female business talents, and encouraged the women graduates to give full play to their unique advantages and charisma to make significant contributions to the development of Africa and Ghana.

President of CEIBS Prof. Pedro Nueno and EU Ambassador to Ghana H.E. Mr. Willian Hanna delivered a speech respectively. They expressed the firm belief that the prospect of China-Africa cooperation is bright, and they are full of confidence of the development of CEIBS in Africa.

Ambassador Sun also presented the Outstanding Performance Award to the Awardee graduate and took a group photo with all the graduates present at the ceremony.
