THE CHINESE EMBASSY IN GHANA VISIT THE COCOA RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF GHANA

On February 6, Chinese Ambassador to Ghana H.E. Shi Ting Wang and all diplomats of the Embassy visited the Cocoa Research Institute of Ghana (CRIG).

On behalf of the staff of the Institute, Dr. Isaac Yaw Opoku, Ag. Managing Director of CRIG, warmly welcomed Ambassador Wang and his entourage for the visit and introduced in details the various aspects of cocoa cultivation and processing. He hoped that China would assist Ghana to increase the value of cocoa products and expand the exporting of cocoa related products to China.

Ambassador Wang said that China-Ghana relations are at the best of history and the two countries have achieved fruitful cooperation in various fields including the agricultural sector. China is willing to continue deepening cooperation with Ghana in areas including the agricultural sector and support Ghana in achieving the goal of “Ghana Beyond Aid”.

Diplomats of the Embassy listened carefully to the introduction of the staff and visited the cocoa seedling nursery base, the cocoa soap workshop and the chocolate laboratory with great interest. Through the visit, everyone deepened understanding and enriched knowledge of the cocoa industry in Ghana and broadened horizons.
