CHINESE AMBASSADOR TO GHANA H.E. MDM SUN BAOHONG MEETS WITH THE PRESIDENT OF GHANA NATIONAL HOUSE OF CHIEFS

On March 9th 2018, Chinese Ambassador to Ghana H.E. Mdm. Sun Baohong met with H.R.M. Togbe Afede XIV, President of Ghana National House of Chiefs. Both sides exchanged views on strengthening the friendly ties and cooperation among local provinces, cities and cultural exchanges between the two countries.

The Paramount chief, Togbe Afede XIV delightedly recalled his visits to China since 2005 and highly appreciated the tremendous achievements China has made in recent years. He said that China is a model for Ghana and developing countries, and that the two countries should strengthen their exchange of experiences on governance. H.R.M. Togbe Afede XIV noted that Ghana is a multi-cultural country and that traditional leaders play an important role in local economic and social development. He hoped that the two countries could strengthen the friendly exchanges between local provinces and cities so as to bring more Chinese development experiences to Ghana.

Ambassador Sun expressed her appreciation for the positive contributions made by H.R.M. Togbe Afede XIV in promoting China-Ghana cooperation. She pointed out that the China-Ghana relations is enjoying a sound momentum of development and a number of major cooperation projects are poised for commencement. She fully affirmed the important role played by local traditional leaders in economic and social development of Ghana and stated that she will continue to promote friendship ties between the two countries among provinces and cities so that the Chinese experience and philosophy can inject more impetus into Ghana’s development.
