On June 1, 2018, the Chinese Ambassador-designate to Ghana, H.E. Mr. Shi Ting Wang, paid a courtesy call on Hon. Mdm. Shirley Ayorkor Botchway, the Ghanaian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, and presented to her the copy of the letter of credence.
Ambassador Wang conveyed cordial greetings and best wishes from Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister H.E. Mr. Wang Yi to Hon. Minister Botchway. He stated that the traditional friendship between China and Ghana is profound and the leaders of older generation of the two countries have close contacts. Since the establishment of diplomatic ties 58 years ago, China-Ghana relations have withstood the test of international vicissitudes and domestic changes and maintained a good momentum of development. The mutual cooperation between the two countries in various fields has continued to develop in depth and has brought benefits to people on both sides. He added that he feels deeply honored to have this great responsibility as the new Ambassador. He is willing to build good working ties with friends from the Ghanaian government and all walks of life and further promote the bilateral relations to a notch higher.
Hon. Shirley Ayorkor Botchway asked Ambassador Wang to convey her sincere greetings to the State Councilor and Foreign Minister Mr. Wang Yi. She also extended her warm congratulations and welcome to Ambassador Wang on his arrival. Minister Botchway said she is willing to provide support and convenience to Ambassador Wang and the Chinese Embassy in Ghana. In recent years, relations between the two countries have developed rapidly, high-level exchanges have become more frequent, and pragmatic cooperation has flourished. Hon. Botchway emphasized that Ghana attaches great importance to developing relations with China and is willing to work hand in hand with China to jointly promote bilateral relations to a new level.
