Mr. Jiang said that it is of great importance to develop and utilize the natural resources in a rational, effective and sustainable way, which is a precious experience learned from decades of development in China. Ghana is rich in various kinds of natural resources. China and Ghana relations have always been developing in a steady way and the bilateral cooperation on the development and utilization of natural resources is fruitful. The Bui Hydropower Plant, the Atuabo Gas Processing Plant, and the Kpong Water Supply Expansion Project Phase II, constructed by the Chinese companies, are good models of the bilateral cooperation in this area, which have made great contributions to Ghana’s social and economic development. The Chinese side is willing to communicate and coordinate with the Ghanaian side, and motivate the related department and companies of both sides to promote the cooperation on developing natural resources in the principles of accountability, sustainability, win-win cooperation and common development, so as to bring more benefits for the two peoples.
The Round Table Natural Resource Conference in Ghana is hosted by the Institute of Green Growth Solutions, a NGO in Ghana, focusing on promoting the development of Ghana’s national economy by utilizing natural resources in an equitable and sustainable way.
